Some dogs and their guardians thrive with one-on-one support. Whether you want to focus on specific training goals, work at your own pace, or simply prefer learning outside a group environment, private dog training offers a flexible and tailored solution.

We take the time to understand your pup’s unique personality, your goals, and your lifestyle, then work together to build skills in a calm, supportive setting. Our private sessions cover the same foundation skills taught in our group programs, with the added benefit of focusing on what matters most to you.

Private Training Is Ideal If You

  • Want individual guidance on core skills like recall, loose lead walking, and polite greetings

  • Have a busy schedule and need flexible training times

  • Would like to start strong with a new puppy or rescue dog

  • Need support building your confidence as a guardian

We use kind, reward-based training that builds your dog’s trust, strengthens your bond, and supports long-term success. You’ll gain practical skills you can use every day and enjoy the learning process along the way.

Private sessions can take place in your home or at one of our training locations. You can also combine private training with any of our group programs.

What to Expect in Your Training Package

• One 1-hour consultation at your home:

  • Explore your goals, challenges, and any details not covered in your enrolment form

  • Review your dog’s current training experience, if any

  • Receive clear, personalised training recommendations

  • Guidance on foundation skills and home practice

• Three 1-hour sessions:

  • Conducted at home or another suitable agreed location within 4 weeks

  • Review your dog’s progress and adjust the training plan if needed

  • Expand on practical skills and techniques

  • Tips for long-term success

• Two 10-min phone check-ins

  • Conducted within two months from your first session.

All sessions are scheduled within 3-4 weeks of your first session

Follow-Up Private Training Sessions

Already training with Smart Choice Dog Training?

If you are currently enrolled in one of our group training programs, or you have recently completed a Private Training Package, you may be eligible to book individual follow-up private training sessions.

These sessions are ideal for:

  • Continuing to build on your dog's skills.

  • Working through new training goals as they arise.

  • Receiving personalised guidance tailored to your dog's progress.

  • Helping you stay on track between or after programs.

Follow-up sessions are available by arrangement only. Please contact us directly to discuss your dog's needs, availability, and pricing.

If your dog shows signs of aggression, please book a Behaviour Support Package instead.
